Reykjavick, Iceland, May 17, 2011 - The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, part of an extensive harbor development project in Reykjavik, the East Harbour Project, finally opened its doors at the beginning of May, 2011.

The unique building offers a diversity of spaces that can accommodate any type of events simultaneously without interference from one another. The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre has a main hall, recital hall, conference hall, variety of meeting halls and exhibition halls including other amenities. The main hall features state-of-the-art facilities for concerts and extraordinary acoustics for all kinds of music. It can accommodate 1,600 seated guests.

It is in the recital hall, Norðurljós, that SkyDeck, the tension wire grid system, was installed at the end of 2009. It can accommodate 450 guests.
