Olin School of Business at Washington University
Olin School of Business
Location: St. Louis, MO
Completed Date: June 2013
Project Type: New Construction
Application: Access / Maintenance Platform
Architect: Moore Rubley Yudell Architects & Mackey
Construction Manager: Tarlton Corporation
The Olin School of Business opened its doors to two new innovative buildings, the Knight Hall and Bauer Hall, which are united by a soaring glass enclosed common area. This was part of a major expansion project at the Danford Campus, allowing the school to grow as the business school’s enrollment continues to increase. In recent years, the Olin School has become recognized as a global leader in business education.
SkyDeck™ tension wire grid was provided as a safe way to access the overhead lighting. The flexibility of SkyDeck™ does not limit its application to the performance spaces. It serves well as a maintenance access system for any overhead needs. The transparency of the woven wire proved to be useful in preserving the design, allowing the panels to disappear from view.
John Gitzy, General Manager at IAStage says “InterAmerica Stage was very excited when we were asked to provide a SkyDeck™ maintenance access system for the new addition. It is truly incredible how well our grid blends in with the open architecture of the space.”
